Reporting to the Manager Financial Operations, the Analyst will be responsible for the accounts payable and accounting of Trans-Canada Capital. The ideal candidate will have developed his/her sense of priorities, be rigorous and will be able to work efficiently under pressure. TCC offers a complex financial environment in which the candidate will be able to develop an in-depth understanding of the operational processes tied to the trade lifecycle.

Role and Responsibilities: 
  • Review and challenge invoices/billings by liaising and following up with both external and internal clients to get resolution in a timely manner.
  • Create accounts receivable billings and process payable invoices for internal clients.
  • Act as the key contact person for issues relating to billings and payments.
  • Perform routine data reviews and follow-up with users and external parties for continuous improvement of data integrity.
  • Develop reports and perform cost analysis using internal and external data, to enable the business unit with tools to improve their financial performance.
  • Perform data-integrity analysis and apply best practices to plan and make data-driven recommendations towards improving the overall results.
  • Develop, manage, and enhance processes to ensure efficient data analysis.
  • Ensure a consistently high level of quality in service provided relative to timeliness, accuracy, and user-friendly output.
  • Ensure effective financial managing process/system and controls are developed, implemented, and maintained in accordance with policies and requirements.
  • Establish a positive relationship with internal clients, effectively balancing financial control and support roles.
  • Participate in the preparation of quarterly account analyses, make the necessary corrections, and explain the problem and the solution to the various stakeholders. 
  • Participate in the preparation of the year-end audit file.
  • Participate in the improvement and implementation of continuous internal controls.
  • Participate in the implementation of performance indicators related to revenues and expenses, identify trends, investigate variances and their causes, and make recommendations.
  • Participate in the preparation of budget forecasts.
  • Participate in the improvement of the tools used for the preparation and monitoring of budgets, projections and for the realization of financial simulations to achieve better efficiency and to respect the regulatory capital ratios of TCC.
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or in finance and/or a minimum of three (3) years of experience in an accounting organization. 
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel)
  • Knowledge of PeopleSoft, an asset
  • Accounting designation, an asset
  • Bilingual (spoken/written) French and English, essential
  • Well-organized and ability to perform various tasks at once 
  • Rigor, prudence, and vigilance

The position is based in downtown Montreal
