Position Overview: The Management of Air Canada Maintenance's corporate Dangerous Goods programs which establish a strategic plan across All ACM Stations.
This position may be located in Montreal and/or Toronto. 
Essential Job Functions
  • Develop and revise as required, Policies and Handling procedures to ensure the safe movement of Dangerous Goods by Air and Ground by ACM SCM employees. Accountable to ensure that all Dangerous Goods compliance and policies are follow by ACM employees, at all Air Canada Maintenance Locations.
  • Prepare and advise accordingly, handling procedures for the Transportation of Dangerous Goods by Air and Ground.
  • ACM representative for the following;
    • ATA Air Transport Association of United States (Hazmat Working Group}
    • COSTHA Air Carrier Dangerous Goods Committee
    • ATAC Air Transport Association of Canada (For Hazmat COMAT)
    • IATA Dangerous Goods Board (Observer Status) and IATA Dangerous Goods Conferences.
  • Responsible on behalf of ACM for the Dangerous Goods Information and shipping  System, the revision of applicable data, as well provide feedback to the Vendor for product enhancement. Initiate and manage the annual licensing agreement of software.
  • Develop and review Corporate policies on behalf of ACM in conjunction with Director, Corporate Safety and Environment.

  • Initiate and manage compliance assistance programs and Quality Audits that are designed to raise awareness and identify deficiencies. Correct root cause failure with appropriate corrective actions and measure the success of Air Canada Maintenance Dangerous Goods management programs.
  • Provide SME knowledge to other Business units within the AC Corporation.
  • Perform Benchmarking Activities best practice with other Airlines, cargo operators and service providers for continuous improvement in Air Canada's Dangerous Goods management issues.
  • Identify ACM packaging requirements, design solutions and generate supporting financial documentation to procure the appropriate packaging, ATA SPEC 300 as well as UN SPEC packaging for Dangerous Goods.
  • Develop Dangerous Goods Course material, seek approval from Transport Canada for this material and deliver training to ACM/SCM Line Station Employees when requested, 
  • Training will also be provided to ACM partners, generating ACM revenue, as required.
  • Design prototype solutions required to protect our large components during transportation.
  • Design and implement audit systems for Air Canada's rotable supply to US and international Stations. Facilitate the return of these units to the correct Main Stores location, for extended repair and overhaul.


  • Bachelor’s degree in aviation, safety, environmental, business, operations management, or related field
  • Experience in developing or managing complex logistical or operational processes
  • Excellent Written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with Senior Managers / Executives and Regulators
  • Highly organized, detail oriented, data driven, self-starting, and comfortable with business software
  • Experience in a fast-paced, changing/growing organization
  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st 2021
