We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join the Fleet engineering and reliability Team. The qualified incumbent will be responsible for in service reliability and airworthiness of aircraft systems.  In addition, the candidate may be requested to support the major project group
  • Review, develop and obtain financial approvals for the implementation of Mandatory Airworthiness Requirements and Inspections/Instructions for Continuous Airworthiness.
  • Design and develop engineering documentation with substantiation and justification for modification.
  • Preparation of engineering calculations and / or tests and related reports.
  • Preparation of repairs instructions, processes and procedures as required.
  • Review of aircraft out of service/reliability and identify root causes of failures and identify areas to improve performance and the passenger experience.
  • Conduct technical investigations to determine the root cause of mechanicals problems.
  • Provide technical support to aircraft and components in assigned areas and act as technical interface between the airline and OEM/Vendors
  • Provide engineering support and liaison for other departments including Line Maintenance, Airframe Maintenance, flight ops and Maintenance Operations Control.
  • Support Safety Investigations of aircraft and components.
  • Contribute to reduction of operational and maintenance costs.
  • Maintaining knowledge of Transport Canada regulations affecting area of expertise.
  • Support maintenance program system activities.

Qualifications

  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st 2021
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering or Mechanical Engineering recognized by a Canadian university or provincial engineering regulator.
  • Candidates must be members or qualify for admission to a provincial engineering regulator.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in aviation and aircraft systems.
  • Team player with effective communication skills and strong customer focus.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to co-ordinate details to successful conclusion. 
  • Ability to develop and write clear, concise technical descriptions, instructions, information sheets, reports and engineering drawings.
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and accommodate changing priorities
  • Willingness to be on call and to work flexible hours at and away from home base, as required by day-to-day operational needs.
  • Availability to travel overseas for training, industry meetings, etc.
  • Solid knowledge of most commonly used PC software.
  • Must be clear of any restrictions which will prevent entry into other countries.
  • Knowledge of Regulatory design certification standards for both TCCA and FAA specifications. (asset)
