Air Canada is seeking an experienced and dynamic Analyst, It Network.  This is a position within the Network Services team, interacting with other IT teams, primary vendors and service providers.  The mandate is to provide expense management support with a goal of improving the value of telecom services and accuracy of our financial reporting. Air Canada operates in a highly outsourced IT model for Network Services; therefore, this individual requires collaboration with a broad range of vendors providing the various services. The individual will contribute to the management of the overall network budget including both operational and project finances ensuring accuracy of invoice management and cashflow.

This position reports to the Director, Network Services.

The Analyst, IT Network will:
  • Provide expense management support for a large enterprise operational budget
  • Work with Air Canada’s Strategic Procurement and Partner Performance teams during the establishment of new contracts and contract changes with existing partners
  • Manage the creation of business cases and funding requests in support of project and project change requests
  • Support and maintain the annual telecom operational and project budgets
  • Responsible for monthly invoice analysis to identify errors, discrepancies, and savings opportunities
  • Perform invoice validation and submission for approval on telecom invoices
  • Reconcile telecom invoicing to contracted services, inventory and budget
  • Perform allocation management
  • Work with the Air Canada’s telecom partners to review and develop procedures for the management of invoices and disputes 
  • Manage disputes and issues through resolution
  • Prepare and share status reports and findings to manager
  • Inventory management activities to ensure timely updates to inventory through project, MACD and reports from partners 
  • Build and provide expense reporting, monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Create monthly accrual reports 
  • Work in collaboration with other departments in IT as well as Finance


  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st, 2021
  • A relevant University degree/technical certification (and/or relevant experience) 
  • Telecom Expense Management and/or Accounts Payable experience preferred 
  • 5 years experience in IT, Accounting, Finance, Consulting, Strategy and/or Analytics
  • Experience with various telco services including telephony, circuits, managed services and how they are invoiced
  • Analytical skills to compile information and data from multiple sources, the ability to work with numbers and formulas 
  • Experience analyzing and reporting data to identify issues, trends and exceptions to drive improvement of results and find solutions
  • Experience with invoice processing, reconciliation, and dispute management procedures
  • Experience with Microsoft Excel, working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
  • Experience with SAP Ariba or other financial software platforms
  • Have a strong work ethic to act with a sense of urgency, follow-up on activity, customer advocacy and drive for results 
  • Oral and written communication skills, able to work effectively with employees both internal and external to the finance function 
  • A team player with excellent interpersonal skills, collaborative attitude and take initiative
  • Familiarity with the airline industry is an asset
