The Instructional Designer is responsible for leading the design and development of learning programs that support business objectives. Reporting to the Talent and Engagement Manager, this role will provide instructional direction on assigned projects ensuring the development of engaging and innovative learning solutions. 
  • Work in collaboration with the Learning Courseware and LMS Advisor and impacted stakeholders to determine performance needs, make recommendations and apply L&D design principles to build engaging learning programs that meet business objectives. 
  • Work through the instructional design process ensuring the delivery of work on time and within quality, scope and learning objective guidelines. 
  • Set instructional direction for customized blended learning solutions, such as ILT classroom, and virtual courses continuously improving and evolving our learning offerings. 
  • Work with LMS Administrator to ensure all learning components are added to course uploads in LMS 
  • Manage the development of multiple initiatives/projects of varying degrees of complexity with competing timeframes. 
  • Manage and recommend vendors when appropriate. 
  • Maintain broad industry knowledge and understanding of marketplace trends to develop best-in-class learning solutions. 

Qualifications

  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st 2021
  • University undergraduate degree in related business field (Adult Education certification is an asset) 
  • Min 5 years of related business experience 
  • Willing to travel and work flexible and extended hours 
Experience 
  • Strong understanding of ID methodologies such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) 
  • Experience creating and presenting learning strategies and recommendations, comfortable presenting to varying levels of management  
  • Strong business acumen and ability to collaborate with branch management to lead and implement training solutions, including knowledge of change management practices 
  • Excellent knowledge of technology required to enable effective online, leader-led, social, virtual and mobile learning experiences 
  • Ability to work under pressure, assess priorities and manage strict deadlines 
  • Proven excellent written and verbal communication skills with various levels of employees, management and vendors.
