Reporting to: General Manager, Korea
Location: Seoul, Korea 

This position directs and leads all Air Canada sales activities to provide profitable revenue generation for Korea.

KEY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develops objectives and establishes plan for achieving or exceeding company revenue goals 
  • Directs & executes sales activities designed to provide profitable revenue generation across all market segments
  • Provides industry leadership in the area of relationship building, account management and coaching
  • Provides active leadership in the negotiation and maintenance of key commercial agreements with particular emphasis on leisure and premium revenue
  • Ensure Air Canada corporate policy and compliance is maintained within the contract management process 
  • Develop detailed and robust annual and quarterly business plans for Leisure Sales
  • Regularly monitor account revenue performance and work with the Korea GSA Sales team to develop sales strategies to ensure expected growth is achieved
  • Maintains expertise in both AC and alliance products and services 
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activity and make recommendations on actions the company should undertake to counteract
  • Seek out and develop new business opportunities across Air Canada’s global network
  • Responsible for compiling & operating within agreed sales budgets
  • Ensures the Air Canada brand is highlighted and emphasized to customer base
  • Ensure that trends, developments, competitor activity and other patterns that may impact Air Canada are reported accurately and immediately to manager
  • Demonstrate detailed analysis of all statistical data to understand trends and opportunities within the Leisure market
  • Build deep and robust relationships with internal stakeholders at AC, including local commercial team, Sales & Communication team, Corporate Sales, HDQ’s RM and Network Planning 
  • Prospect for new opportunities to improve yield and revenue growth
  • Represents Air Canada at local promotional events and trade organizations, including the Canadian Chamber of Commerce, Tourism boards, KATA and various consumer and trade events
  • Serves as principal Air Canada spokesperson in the absence of General Manager, Korea
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned as required 

Qualifications

  • Mandatory Covid-19 Vaccination Required as of October 31st 2021
  • Undergraduate degree 
  • Airline Sales or Travel industry sales experience of minimum 7 years
  • Experience of managing/developing a team
  • Strategic business and financial acumen and a mix of business management skills
  • Good presentation skills
  • Demonstrable leadership and interpersonal skills (i.e. self-motivated, autonomous and results oriented)
  • The ability to motivate & develop teams to improve performance
  • Strong negotiating, communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent time management and task organizational skills 
  • Demonstrated sales planning and negotiation experience
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with customers and partners, both internal and external
  • Ability to participate in out of hours activities and travel overseas.
  • Language requirement, fluent in Korean and in English (oral and writing)
