Air Canada faces exciting challenges these days with the implementation of the future Loyalty program for 2020. At the center of this transition, the Aeroplan Currency Management team is mandated to develop levers and Program constructs allowing the optimization of the Loyalty business unit’s contribution to revenue and profitability of Air Canada, while delivering great value to our members. The growing flow and velocity of information coming from various sources, the dynamic market for flight tickets, hotel and car reservations, the appetite of our growing 5 million strong member base for personalized and competitive offers, requires a highly skilled team that delivers cutting edge tools to optimize the performance and set the ground for a best in class Loyalty program. To fulfill these objectives, we’re looking for experienced analytics professional with a strong technical background with good business acumen. As a Senior Pricing Analyst, Redemption Pricing & Optimization, you will be responsible to maintain competitive selling fare structures for all Aeroplan reward catalogue as well as the optimization of pricing tools and processes

  • Responsible to implement and maintain optimal pricing parameters for Aeroplan rewards.
  • Responsible to validate effectiveness of pricing decisions.
  • Develop and maintain rigorous quality control processes around error detection and sub-optimal performance of pricing parameters.
  • Monitor performance of key financial metrics related to redemptions.
  • Develop an understanding of member behaviors and pricing sensitivities required for optimization of performance of pricing parameters.
  • Turn insights into concrete actions benefiting the redemption portfolio profitability.
  • In collaboration with the Pricing Manager and other members of the team, optimize the pricing parameters of redemptions in accordance with corporate objectives and members value maximization.
  • Support integration of the new Loyalty program pricing and optimization components – e.g. new products, platforms or optimization tools. •
  • Leverage various source of data (transactional, member activities, CRM, fares and inventory, etc.) to fine tune the pricing parameters available.
  • Capable of summarizing large amount of information.
  • Provide insights regarding the performance of the redemption portfolio.
  • Stay informed of the competitive landscape.

 

Qualifications

  • At least 7 years of industry experience in price management, campaign analysis or similar quantitative roles
  • Passionate about developments into the fields of revenue management, data analysis, consumer behavior, etc.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong business and product development acumen
  • Proficient with relational databases (e.g. SQL) a strong asset
  • Experience in behavioral economics and/or dynamic pricing is a strong asset
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, PowerBI)
  • Experience with programing language like Python, SAS or R is a strong asset
  • Experience with financial modeling and post-campaign analysis
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines while paying attention to details
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts into simple ones (i.e. story-telling skills)
  • Written and verbal communication skills (English and French)
  • Positive thinking and sense of humor
