The Maintenance Control Manager is the primary daily operational point of contact for ACM regarding the status of aircraft from a Maintenance perspective. They lead a team of Fleet Coordinators who monitor the technical dispatch status of the fleet, ensure aircraft are safe for dispatch and provide SOC with accurate updates on the fleet status. They are responsible to remove aircraft from service if any safety risk in their opinion is identified.
Primary contact for ACM in the Operations Center who coordinates with the Chief Dispatcher, SOC Manager, Operational Managers, ACM Planning and provide direction to Line Maintenance or Contract Providers.
Acts on behalf of the PRM during off hours to remove aircraft from service as required if safety is compromised.
Manage the approval of MEL extensions.
Respond to random calls from senior management, TSB, Transport Canada etc.
Initiate technical reports, work orders and alerting of Senior Management for all significant events or incidents
Facilitate the daily morning operational call and out of service calls when required.
Initiate Ferry Flights as required and ensure the aircraft is fit and safe for the flight.
Coordinate adhoc maintenance when required by qualified organizations and personnel.
Ensure accurate estimates for out of service aircraft are provided to SOC and prioritize work for ACM.
Resolve conflicts during the completion of the overnight work plan and ensures the best utilization of resources in Line maintenance.
Oversee the team of Fleet Coordinators assigned and ensure they are adequately trained for their function.
Evaluate, assess and coordinate downline effects of mechanical defects
Monitor deferred aircraft maintenance production work and significant program delays.
