This position is responsible for evaluating each version of the schedule as it is developed with the goal of identifying unproductive aircraft routing and pairings and to make recommendations to reduce costs of operating the network.

  • Communicate changes in the network schedule to the operating branches.
  • Identify aircraft routings that result in lower productivity levels for Pilots and FAs and make recommendations to address them through changes in the schedule.
  • Identify areas of proposed schedules that cause long-term crewing disruptions and negotiate with network schedulers the minimization of such disruptions.
  • Monitor passenger connection success rates.
  • Identify passenger connection failures and make recommendations on schedule adjustments and connection sales adjustments that optimize revenue opportunities while minimizing connection failures.
  • Perform seat caps and misconnections audit semi-annually
  • Financial analysis
  • Act as the Subject Expert for pairings in the Network Planning branch


  • 3 to 5 years experience in building Pilot and/or Flight Attendant pairings
  • Deep knowledge of the Flight and Duty regulations for Pilots and Flight Attendants.
  • Knowledge of the Collective Agreements of ACPA and CUPE with respect to Flight and Duty Limits.
  • Good communication skills
