The People, Culture and Communications branch is continuing our path of transformation and culture change, becoming more customer centric with an operational focus. Consistency is a key component of this change.

The Recognition Manager, Operations will help develop, implement and lead all branch-wide employee engagement and recognition strategies that will ensure consistent programs and initiatives across the corporation and operational branches.

This will include but not be limited to the development, implementation and oversight of corporate wide employee recognition initiatives. The recognition aspect includes but is not limited to station recognition days, retirements, service anniversaries, Shine initiatives and above and beyond scenarios.Develop and manage strategies that will lead to a consistent corporate-level employee recognition program, ensuring initiatives are aligned with the other operational and corporate branches, while recognizing the uniqueness of specific operations.Develop and manage strategies that will lead to a consistent corporate-level employee recognition program, ensuring initiatives are aligned with the other operational and corporate branches, while recognizing the uniqueness of specific operations.


This position may be located in Montreal, Toronto, or Vancouver


  • Develop and manage strategies that will lead to a consistent corporate-level employee recognition program, ensuring initiatives are aligned with the other operational and corporate branches, while recognizing the uniqueness of specific operations.
  • Maintain strong working relationship with current local employee recognition representatives, offering support and coaching as required.
  • Build local recognition committees to engage front line employee involvement by working with each local employee recognition representative
  • Provide guidance and support to Excellence Awards committees.
  • Create an employee recognition guide for managers so they know the tools available to them
  • Develop and implement a branch-level Ambassador program, including the creation of a local champion network, talking points for the Ambassadors, and an audit program. The position will also oversee the program going forward.
  • Chair quarterly meetings with local recognition representatives and host monthly Ambassador conference calls with local champions.
  • Develop strategy to ensure all shout outs and commendations are sent to stations, including those posted to Yammer, through external social media and via Customer Relations
  • Develop strategies for more management engagement with the frontline such as executive visits, virtual town halls etc
  • Maintain strong working relationship with Brand, Employee Communications, Multimedia Sponsorship, Global Sales and Marketing
  • Manage the existing Service Anniversary program
  • Support the Shine program and create various Shine initiatives

Qualifications

  • Solid knowledge of operations an asset. Flight Ops and/or SOC and/or Contact Centers and /or Maintenance and/or Cargo
  • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to multitask and demonstrate flexibility
  • Must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated diplomacy and cooperation
  • Candidate must be high energy, a team player and have the ability to travel.
  • Project management skills an asset
