This role within the Scheduling team of the Network Planning branch is responsible for Air Canada’s medium-term horizon flying schedules and network. Main objective is the continued development of the schedule along commercial and operational lines in accordance with corporate objectives for profitability, growth, competitive market position and customer experience.

This is a critical leadership role within the Network Planning organization that is responsible for balancing commercial requirements and operational constraints in the medium planned schedule which covers the 3 to 12 months out horizon.
Responsible to optimize the deployment of the over 400 aircraft fleet at Air Canada, Air Canada Rouge and Air Canada Express to maximize asset utilization, revenues and profits in the intermediate medium-term network schedule time in a dynamic commercial, competitive and operational environment
Work in partnership with Network Planning in developing schedules and support Network Planning and Network Optimization in identifying market-based schedule requirements
Responsible for the integration of both commercial and operational requirements in the intermediate schedule and final decisions for any required trade-offs, including those as a result of unplanned changes while maintaining or exceeding the planned network profitability
Work with Air Canada’s operating groups to understand cost levers and manage the schedule plan in cost effective manner while maximizing profitability
Identify under-utilized assets and implement utilization improvement opportunities to generate incremental profitability in the schedule
Identify high cost drivers in the schedule and resolve through schedule re-work or adjustments
Develop schedules that ensure usage and deployment of assets such as aircraft, facilities and slots are optimized
Adjust planned capacity to leverage demand and cost objectives on an on-going basis
Communicate back to Network Planning implemented schedule changes affecting future planned schedules
Scope of intermediate scheduling role includes functions such as Air Canada’s Slot Portfolio and Block management
