Responsible for the development, validation and certification of accurate monthly Flight Attendant pay and crew pay files in advance of payroll production

  • Oversee the daily activities and month-end validation of Air Canada Mainline and Rouge flight attendants’ gross pay, which includes formula pay/wages, allowances and crew cycle expenses
  • Evaluate and ensure quality and timely development of pay calculations
  • Direct a team of Crew Pay Analysts, which includes recruitment, coaching, performance management, mentoring and development
  • Establish processes for timely and accurate responses to crew pay queries and pay adjustment requests
  • Organize, streamline and maintain automation applications to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the crew pay operation and provide quality crew pay results
  • Evaluate the analysis, interpretation and implementation of pay-related items within the collective agreements, in association with key stakeholders such as In-Flight Service, Labour Relations, and HR
  • Manage the configuration, testing, implementation and maintenance of the new Crew Pay System for Flight Attendants
  • Ensure pay extracts are accurate and timely for payroll production
  • Evaluate criteria for approval or rejection of all Flight Attendant pay issues, including formula pay and crew cycle expenses
  • Identify, recommend and implement Flight Attendant pay policy improvements
  • Establish and maintain Flight Attendant pay administration policies and procedures, including contract interpretations, grievance awards, policies and other guidance for accurate and compliant crew pay processing, in collaboration with key stakeholders
  • Develop, implement and maintain quality practices and procedures, ensuring compliance with the collective agreement
  • Liaise with Payrolls to ensure accurate and timely crew pay files and pay adjustments
  • Plan and manage the production and reporting of Flight Attendant pay data for review by senior management
  • Other related duties or special projects, as required 



  • University degree in a relevant field of study, such as accounting, finance, business
  • Airline experience, particularly in Crew Resources, required; knowledge of Flight Attendant crew pay, an asset
  • Effective leadership skills, including previous supervisory experience
  • Previous accounting experience, an asset
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal; bilingualism in French and English, a definite asset
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and databases, and working knowledge of Crew Systems, preferably NetLine
  • Previous experience working with collective agreements, in particular the Air Canada/CUPE (Airline division/Air Canada Component) Collective Agreement, an asset
  • Must be able to meet tight deadlines and have flexibility with work hours
