The Qualifications & LMS Manager is responsible for managing the training & qualification records for both ACM employees and ACM contracted maintenance organizations world wide on behalf of ACM AMO 32-03. This position is an essential element of an Approved Maintenance Organization required by Transport Canada and IOSA.

  • Assists with all training, qualifications, and evaluations as assigned by the Manager, Training & Qualifications. 
  • Maintain accuracy of the Qualification Management System & Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Evaluate and assess formal training and on the job experience requirements prior to awarding qualifications to individuals who are employed by ACM.
  • Evaluate contractor’s foreign regulatory qualifications against those established by Transport Canada for RA & ACA issuance.
  • Develop and maintain the process (Process Improvement Leader) in the Control Manual for personnel qualifications as required by Transport Canada. Support workflow for the administration of the qualification system by producing check sheet, forms, reports, applications, letters of approval, etc.
  • Coordinate the evaluation of foreign technical training courses with ATO’s.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all records.
  • Issue audit findings in cases of non-compliance.
  • Ensure timely and proactive training & qualification reports are distributed to operations.

Qualifications

  • At least 5 years’ management experience in the aviation industry.
  • Bachelor's degree/diploma/certificate in Business Administration, an asset.
  • Knowledge of Transport Canada and foreign regulatory training and licensing systems.
  • Holder of an AME license or sufficient experience in aviation maintenance with a strong quality background.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety, environmental and other regulatory standards and policies; includes the requirements to maintain a Maintenance Policy Manual.
  • Detail oriented with problem solving ability
  • Excellent interpersonal (oral and written) communication skills
  • Able to analyze and evaluate work methods, design and implement ‘best practice’ solutions and procedures for business process improvement
  • Able to multi-task, work under pressure, accommodate changing priorities and meet tight deadlines
  • High degree of professionalism and discretion is required
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, within a team environment
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Strong Internal/External Customer Service skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite i.e. Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Project Management Skills an asset.
  • Experience in EAS, Ariba, Trax, Learning Management System an asset.
