The Manager, HR Data Audit & Governance is responsible for ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and governance of HR data and processes across the organization. This role will lead the development and implementation of HR data audit strategies, governance frameworks, and compliance monitoring systems to safeguard data quality, optimize processes, and ensure adherence to enterprise and industry standards. The Manager will collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure that HR data practices align with organizational goals and regulatory requirements.

Responsabilities:

  • Manage and conduct comprehensive audits of HR data and security roles to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with internal policies and enterprise standards. 
  • Identify discrepancies, data integrity issues, and potential risks, and work with HR teams to implement corrective actions and improvements. 
  • Establish and implement an HR Data Governance framework that aligns with enterprise goals and ensures value delivery through effective data management practices. 
  • Maintain governance policies, roles, responsibilities, and methodologies to drive consistent and reliable HR data processes across the organization. 
  • Continuously evaluate and refine procedures and metrics to enhance the value and impact of the HR data governance program. 
  • Build internal partnerships with key stakeholders to align data governance initiatives with organizational objectives and influence positive change. 
  • Develop and implement a compliance monitoring framework to ensure adherence to organizational processes, policies, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Drive the continuous improvement of audit methodologies to ensure timely and accurate reporting of non-compliance and monitor remediation efforts.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments related to HR data management and governance, identifying potential risks and implementing strategies to mitigate them. 
  • Provide guidance to HR and HR Systems teams on data risk management practices and the development of strong internal controls. 
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to drive continuous improvement in HR data governance practices, leveraging audit findings and best practices. 
  • Stay updated on emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in data governance and incorporate them into the HR data governance framework. 
  • Develop and implement a communication framework to ensure that stakeholders are informed of performance opportunities, challenges, and risks related to HR data governance. 
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on audit findings, governance performance, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in data governance, auditing, or HR management are a plus. 
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in HR, data management, or auditing roles, with a strong focus on data governance and compliance. 
  • Proven track record in developing and implementing data governance frameworks and conducting data audits in a complex organizational environment. 
  • Industry-recognized relevant designations and certifications such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Certified Information Security Auditor (CISA), and Certification in Risk and Information Systems Control (CRISC) 
  • Strong knowledge of IT frameworks, standards and guidelines such as COBIT, SOC2, ITIL, NIST, ISO 27001, PMBOK 
  • Strong knowledge of general IT, business processes and controls; and relevant regulatory and compliance requirements such as 52-109, PCI-DSS, PIPEDA, GDPR; and IIA's three lines of defense model. 
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, identify root causes, and develop actionable insights to improve HR data quality and governance. 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels. 
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and drive alignment on data governance initiatives.
