The Employee Recognition Manager is responsible for leading and delivering recognition programs, policies, processes and procedures for all Branches across the system ensuring a high level of consistency across branches. This will promote a culture recognizing strong operational and customer service performance, as what gets recognized gets repeated. This position provides Branch heads with a dedicated point of contact and resource to address their recognition needs.
Responsibilities:
- Manage relationship with Operational branches head and oversee activities related to various recognition events.
- Manage relationship with CRE for all food events related.
- Manage relationship with outside vendors for various recognition initiative (hotels, transportation…)
- Ensure the annual budget for Recognition is adhered to…
- Monitor the invoicing of the various Recognition programs.
- Seek synergies between Ops Branches.
- Develop and implement Recognition strategies with Branches.
- Research new Recognition trends
- Organize regular meetings with AC team and recognition vendor(s)
- Acts as a role model for Recognition.
- Anticipates, identifies and resolves problems with a results-oriented approach.
- Plans, organizes, manages and enhances programs such as Excellence Awards
- Oversees the Air Canada Brand Ambassador program and work closely with Marketing.
- Provides leadership to ensure the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the recognition team.
- Guides the staff, counsels and motivates the team through example
- Recognizes and acknowledges employees who consistently deliver excellent work.
- Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with Union representatives.
- Manage and maintain seamless communication channels with different stakeholders (comms, Ops branches, CRE)
- Leads and participates in various HR initiative (IE Job Shadow, Road Show)
- Authority levels (ability or obligation to carry out responsibilities)
- Responsible for making day-to-day decisions on logistical situations involving recognition
- Provides support and direction in the delivery of recognition programs
- Proposes new ideas to improve the planning and implementation process.
- Responsible for negotiating with outside vendors.
- Always Acts as an Air Canada ambassador, specifically for employee events
- Ensures effective and timely communication within the team.
- Liaises with various departments across the network.
Qualifications
- University Degree in Education or Business Administration or the equivalent an asset
- Experience with employee management and unionized.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and planning skills with an aptitude for precision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure.
- Sound decision making skills.
- Ability to establish work priorities and performance and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint etc.).
- Strong flexibility and availability to work long and irregular hours.
- Proven leadership and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Ability to work independently, set objectives, develop work plans, develop processes, and set deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills to prepare detailed and precise reports, letters, communications, emails, and procedures.
