The individual is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and supply chain of the logistics warehouse in Montreal, in support of Air Canada Line Maintenance. These responsibilities include financial analysis and performance management of the various supply change functions, to identify issues and opportunities in collaboration with the management, and subsequent development of solutions and identification of opportunities to improve the operational and financial performance of the business. The role will provide leadership strategies and overall management and coordination of all supply chain activities that meet operational requirements and Air Canada’s standard of airworthiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete accountability for developing, managing and administrating annual budget for designated region.
  • Develop station business plans.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Ensuring the implementation and follow-up of all Healthy & Safety policies and initiatives.
  • Have ultimate accountability for, and demonstrate actual performance against goals on behalf of the Corporation
  • Set clear direction and objectives for the Air Canada network internationally  
  • Be knowledgeable and remain current with ongoing industry best practices. Drive changes to achieve new business tactics and strategies in order to minimize the cost  
  • Be able to create a strong rapport with internal & external customers.
  • Be accountable for recognizing, developing and engaging talent in order to achieve high level of performance and to breed success.
  • Maintain and develop the level of qualifications, training and competency of personnel regionally.
  • Carry out annual surveillance at regional stations.
  • Have a good understanding of business process and standards in the respective regions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Research, Operations Management, Supply Chain or equivalent professional experience. 
  • Experience in focused functional areas such as Logistics or Materials Management or Inventory Management. 
  • Strong knowledge of SOX (Sarbanes Oxley) compliance requirements related to supply chain. 
  • Knowledge of warehousing distribution, logistics and transportation. 
  • Proven leadership abilities in coaching, motivating employees and resolving issues. 
  • Strong focus on continuous improvement and achievement of objectives while maintaining positive and productive working relationships. 
  • Experience working with operating budgets and forecasts. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. 
  • Strong negotiating skills. 
  • Previous management experience in a unionized environment. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
