This position sits within Air Canada’s Customer Digital Technology group on the Digital Product team to design best-in-class digital experiences for both aircanada.com and the Air Canada + Aeroplan mobile app.
Air Canada seeks a highly motivated and experienced Product Manager to join the Digital Product team. This position will oversee the design and execution of digital platform assets to enable new and enhanced products within the flight shopping, trip servicing, and payments portfolio. The successful candidate is responsible for bringing together both the business and technical aspects of a given solution to deliver scalable and high-performance digital experiences. The ideal candidate thrives while operating in a collaborative, fast-paced, and high-energy continuous improvement delivery model.
Responsibilities:
- Define, prioritize, and manage the implementation of end-to-end digital solutions for the flight shopping, trip servicing, and payments portfolio on web and mobile channels
- Collaborate with Solution Designers, System Architects, and Digital Platform teams to define functional capabilities, ensuring product requirements are met
- Define scalable and robust API requirements that enable high-performance frontend experiences
- Support Senior Product Managers and leadership to ensure the product roadmap aligns to strategic digital program objectives
- Oversee and prioritize sprint activities across multiple agile delivery teams for both frontend and backend platforms
- Lead and mentor a team of Product Owners to achieve product goals
- Leverage performance metrics and analytics data to identify optimization opportunities
- Be comfortable leading through influence to drive outcomes in a cross-functional team
- Define and communicate the product roadmap as part of Program Increment planning activities, collaborating with Release Train Engineers to ensure release planning meets business objectives
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders and provide clear direction to technical and non-technical audiences
- Prepare presentations to share the product vision, roadmap, new features, and data with business stakeholders
- Manage production operations, including incident resolution and support
- Collaborate with teams across the organization to support the intake of new requirements and provide initial gap assessments as required
- Stay informed on digital, retail, and technology trends to understand their potential impact and drive innovation and improvement at Air Canada
- Remain accountable for requirements documentation for product and delivery teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree with at least 4+ years of (technical or non-technical) Business Analyst, Product Owner, and/or Product Manager experience focused on delivering complex digital products (6+ years demonstrable experience in lieu of a degree)
- Experience supporting the design and/or implementation of robust API schemas
- Have managed at least one consumer-facing frontend application or backend application platform in a cloud-based environment
- Familiarity working in an agile methodology (e.g., SCRUM, SAFe, etc.), with scaled agile (SAFe) as a plus
- Ability to provide clear direction and effective communication both in technical and non-technical terms
- Have directly or indirectly led a team of Product Owners or Business Analysts
- An ability to energize people in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Innovative and creative, with the ability to identify and develop business opportunities
- Excellent management, organization, and communication skills including understanding of technical terminology
- Experience participating in product discovery sessions
- Prior experience with coding or quality assurance a plus, but not required
- Airline or travel industry experience a plus, but not required
