The primary responsibility of this role is to deliver and exceed Air Canada’s agency revenue and market share targets by building and maintaining strategic relationships with agency partners in South Korea. 

It’s essential that the successful candidate possesses consultative sales experience with a proven track record of selling to and maintaining relationships with the travel trade, preferably in the airline industry.  

  • Maximize selling strategy on the assigned agency and corporate accounts and build business relationships to gain long-term commitments to AC. 
  • Take best care of several managed and non-managed accounts based in primary and secondary regions, which will involve developing and executing highly effective key account plans.
  • Locate business potential by contacting potential customers, discovering, and exploring opportunities.
  • Revies and analyzes account performance and achievement of AC KPI, goals and initiates corrective actions as necessary. 
  • Drive and deliver incremental agency revenue and exceed fair market share in the agency channel.  
  • Design agency fare products and manage fare utilization in the light of market intelligence with Sales Planning team.
  • Roll out ‘fit-for-purpose’ strategic and tactical Agency Program in response to a rapidly evolving external market. 
  • Enhance AC content and products presence through local and global OTA partners. 
  • Launch NDC, increase NDC revenue and adoption, provide training and support to the travel trade.
  • Host agency training seminars and regular engagement activities with the entire travel trade. 
  • Responsible for implementation and adherence to groups policies and procedures.
  • Represent the AC and partners' business events and functions as required.
  • Develop AC corporate sales strategy and engagement plans represented in strategic account plans to grow revenue and market share.
  • Generate new corporate business opportunities and revenue by leveraging existing networks and identifying potential clients and continuously seek ways to expand the client base and increase revenue through TMC and direct clients
  • Leverage relationship with TMC to prospect potential corporate accounts and corporate contracting. 
  • Generate new leisure, corporate and business sales leads and contacts, focusing on building new customers and growing revenue, and effective management.
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across regions or departments to align AC global sales strategy.
  • Performs any assigned ad-hoc projects and initiatives as required. 
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational/training opportunities.
  • Evaluate options, resolve internal priorities and funnel new-business leads with accurate lead insights, revenue-potential estimates, and recommendations.
  • Interact effectively with HQ, regional or local to maximize business opportunities and results. 
  • Assist with any other ad-hoc tasks or projects assigned by General Manager or other superior.
  • Generate commercial plans, reports, updates, monitor market trends and opportunities.
  • Ensure AC corporate policy and stands are upheld in all fare distribution, ticketing policies and local procedures.
  • Fulfill Salesforce application standard in capturing, tracking, resolving and monitoring daily activities as well as proactively perform Weekly Sales Updates.

Qualifications

  • University degree in any discipline (Essential) 
  • Consultative sales experience (Essential) 
  • Airline sales experience (Essential)
  • High level of autonomy and ability to collaborate with colleagues remotely and virtually (Essential) 
  • Willingness to work across different time zones, and to attend meetings during after office hours occasionally (Essential)  
  • Willingness to travel regionally and to Canada. 
  • Effective team player: empathetic and understanding of the needs of other stakeholders and team members. 
  • Local expertise with a global perspective: ability to look for Air Canada’s commercial interests at a global sales level. 
  • Excellent negotiation skills, interpersonal and communication skills, commercial acumen
  • Good numerical and analytical skills
