We are seeking an entrepreneurial and experienced external wholesaler/ salesperson to generate sales and develop new business focusing on the Private Wealth Channel (including CIRO/IIROC & family offices) and other institutional investors.

Reporting to the Head of Canadian Sales, the role will include prospecting for new advisor clients, wealth gatekeepers, family offices and small-mid sized institutions across Canada. It will require in-depth knowledge of our fixed income and alternative products. The role can be based in Toronto or Montreal and will require travel.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Successfully meet challenging sales targets and annual revenue goals
  • Identify and pursue relationships with financial advisors, gatekeepers, family offices and small-mid sized institutions to uncover new business development opportunities 
  • Develop a strategic business plan and monitor progress
  • Present TCC strategies to prospects
  • Attend and present at relevant investment conferences
  • Stay up to date with the various investment teams on trends, themes and new opportunities
  • Populate the CRM system with prospect data, and provide sales reporting to management
  • Work effectively within a collegiate and entrepreneurial team environment

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a successful salesperson in the Canadian investment industry with established financial advisor, family office and institutional relationships 
  • Experience in developing and executing a successful sales and marketing plan
  • University degree; bachelor level required
  • Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Professional Financial Planner (PFP), Chartered Financial Planner (CFP) or Chartered Investment Management (CIM) designations are an asset.
  • Bilingual (English and French) strong writing skills;

  • Team player, adaptability to work in a dynamic workplace; and
  • Strong interpersonal skills.

Office attendance and location

  • The position is based in downtown Montreal or Toronto
  • This is position require 5 days of office attendance
