The Specialist, Data Analytics (Delivery lead) will drive the technical delivery on either on a project, a program or an agile roadmap. 

This position will be reporting to the Manager, Data & Analytics

Key Functions:

  • Co-ordinate the delivery across impacted IT teams until release is in Production including any required troubleshooting during warranty support.
  • Drive to successful conclusion any technical problem solving on the project/program/agile roadmap.
  • Lead, from a technical standpoint, the project/program/Agile roadmap from end-to-end encompassing planning, design, technical implementation, debugging, roll-out to Production and transition to operations. Act as main point of contact for the delivery of a project, a program or an agile
  • roadmap and be accountable for its success.
  • Work with Product owner and/or Business Partner to define use cases and translate use cases into work packages, quantify and track business value, and work across business and technical teams to drive successful delivery of products.
  • Drive overall operations for the Data team including managing FTCs, manage delivery KPIs and administrative activities.
  • Manage scope and pace of execution to ensure high quality and on time delivery.
  • Matrix-manage a multidisciplinary team to achieve project cost, schedule, and quality targets".
  • Assemble streams of activities delivered by various teams into a comprehensive whole, understanding and highlighting stream dependencies. Federate the teams around a common plan for the delivery of the project, program, or agile roadmap.
  • Host kick-off, follow-up meetings, track activities, and lead the implementation up until closure.
  • Take ownership of complex production issues that require coordination between different teams to be solved. Identify the exact business scenarios that are not working as expected, coordinate between implementation teams and business teams to identify the best solution for fixing the
  • issue, coordinate with testing teams to oversee the end-to-end verification of the fix and drive the fix to completion.
  • Keep the delivery momentum by anticipating and removing obstacles and by enabling teams to work productively in a constructive environment.
  • Take Ownership of the Transition. To Operation process to complete the delivery process.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of IT technology or operations experience in a large company.
  • Good understanding of data architecture (understand dependencies between systems, the capability of each layer in an IT value chain).
  • An expert in project planning and progress monitoring, including scope and milestone control
  • An Asset - Good understanding of the Air Canada business and IT landscape for 1 or more large transversal function (e.g Flight Ops data flows, Flight Distribution, etc).
  • An Asset – Experience as system analyst for 1 or more major IT platforms used at Air Canada (e.g Altea PSS, Netline, etc).
  • Certifications in classic or agile project management (Scrum Master, RTE), solution architecture, business analytics, PMI-PBA (Professional in Business Analysis), CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) an asset.
  • A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role.
  • Good knowledge of SDLC and various Software development frameworks (Agile, Iterative, DEVOPS).
