Supports the Senior Manager, People & Cabin Crew Training Operations by providing training administration, management, and leadership as required.
Administrative duties include assisting with staffing requests, budgets as well as manpower and real estate planning. Training duties include and are not limited to: recruitment, ensuring adherence to program standards and providing feedback of major programs to the local training operations. The incumbent is also required to act as the Manager Cabin Crew Training Operations when required. This position holds particular responsibility for ensuring the logistics of the Cabin Crew Training Center in their respect local training center are upheld.
Responsibilities
- Ensure all scheduling, manpower planning, and real estate are allocated efficiently to current In-Flight programs, third party contracts, and ad hoc training as required.
- Manage the local In-Flight training schedule, vacation tracking, and absenteeism patterns.
- Manage subject matter experts in QA and peer to peer.
- In conjunction with recruitment coordinators and corporate HR, assist on recruitment sites and with the logistical planning of the day.
- Lead for recruitment initiatives of Training Specialist – Cabin Crew and manage recruitment of Special Assignment instructors when required.
- Manage the Cabin Crew Training Operations ensuring smooth functioning of the training operations.
- Prepares audits and represents their region for all correct action plans and draft responses to IOSA, TC and Internal Quality Departments.
- Manage facility costs, inventory and corporate real estate relationships for their local facilities.
- Oversees and coordinates site (working) copies (including exams and relevant handouts / training materials) of all training programs – ensuring they comply with required standards and provisions.
- Implement and track induction (including regulatory training) of new hire instructors.
- Manages all Third Party contractual relationships and use of manpower and facilities.
- Participates in the development and maintenance of business processes for internal reporting systems (ETQ and AQD) and lead for bi-annual revisions.
- Provide IBM / IMAC and infrastructure support to their training team.
- Coaching of subject matter experts and participates in other coaching initiatives for small medium and larger scale training plans.
- Attend monthly equipment and maintenance committee meetings and action all local initiatives.
- Support the Cabin Crew Training Operations Managers from other training center when required.
- Provide oversight of Exit Interviews (end of contract) processing for Cabin Crew (coordinating with HR, IBM, Planning and Bases).
- Develop and maintain local SMS – IOSA based processes and safety measures for training when delegated by the manager.
Authority:
- Provides regional direction for the delivery of all programs, regulatory and non regulatory, to support corporate goals and objectives
- Provides support and direction for allocation of and maintenance of all training equipment and facilities as per Transport Canada regulations and Commercial / other training requirements.
- Executes internal audits and assists external audits.
- Provides support to track and maintain mechanisms for of all Cabin Crew qualifications, training and records
- Provides support and direction to the Training Team / and support to the overall system based on system requirements.
- Ensures effective and timely communication within the team / bases and key stakeholders.
Safety and Regulatory Requirements:
- Maintains safety as first topic day to day (production and administration)
- Assumes any responsibilities delegated by the Manager, Cabin Crew Training Operations
- In person’s absence, all responsibilities for duties are delegated to another qualified individual
- Keeps abreast of corporate initiatives and communications
- Establishes and maintains Business Processes and procedures for the position
- Follows Risk Assessment Management for change or introduction of equipment, processes and procedures and when conducting all investigations (refer to Safety Management Manual, Chapter 3.5)
- Follows document retention guidelines (IFS Quality Manual Publication 355 Chapter 2 and/or SMM, Chapter 2)
- Refer to IFS Quality Manual Publication 355 Chapter 1.3 and/or SMM, Chapter 1.3 for SMS Responsibilities
- Ensures provisions of the Official Languages Act are applied to the daily work environment as required

Education:
- University Degree in Education or Business Administration or the equivalent an asset

Conditions of Employment:
