Air Canada (AC) and affiliates are on an exciting Finance Transformation journey. This includes selection & implementation of new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions at its core. Air Canada is looking for individuals who can build our future finance systems to achieve automation, leveraging data to increase performance insights, enabling the next generation delivery model, and serving as a strategic business partner to the organization. 

The Finance Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting ERP leads in the end-to-end design and implementation of various ERP modules. Each module corresponds to a finance business process.

Key Functions and Responsibilities 

  • Identify business requirements through needs analysis, gap analysis, impact analysis, fact findings, investigations, and brainstorming.
  • Develop business requirements in collaboration with process business owners 
  • Convert business requirements into process flows, system specifications and system documentation.
  • Follow change management process & system development guidelines.
  • Seek and record business owner’s approvals on requirements and testing.
  • Develop test cases, conduct testing, document test results and present to business users.
  • Assist the development team in defining solution and technical specifications.
  • Create workshop material, training material and facilitate in training in collaboration with the process area Lead 
  • Monitor change requests to ensure changes are accomplished in a timely manner and within scope.
  • Communicate status of change requests to the management and systems team.
  • Monitor migrations of changes in test & production environments and perform health checks.
  • Perform review of functional and technical documentation. 
  • Post implementation, be the point of contact for system users.
  • Update process and training documentation if changes are applied post implementation 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience and knowledge.
  • Knowledge of system development life cycle and change management are an asset.
  • Good analytical skills, ability to work with multiple systems and willingness to learn.
  • Experience with cloud financial applications an asset
  • MS Visio, Word, PowerPoint or Project knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to understand complex systems and related change management process.
  • Good interpersonal & organization skills and demonstrated ability to work with others.
  • Self-starter, energetic with sense of initiative, creativity and urgency.
  • Excellent oral & written skills.
