This is a critical position for the dissemination of Air Canada’s operating and commercial schedule.
This position calibrates and optimizes complex codeshare data and other schedule support data to maximize revenue and customer satisfaction while adhering to regulatory and industry standards. This position reports to Manager, Schedule Support.
Roles and Responsibilities:

Initiate all schedule processes for AC Mainline, Jazz, and Rouge, including selling schedule, budget schedule and other corporate initiatives.

Ensure schedule publication and distribution is implemented daily in a timely, accurate and complete manner and be prepared with recovery scenarios.

Collaborate closely with Network Planning, Scheduling, IT, Product Distribution and In-Flight colleagues to meet production deadlines for schedule publication and distribution, ensuring all downline participants in the process comply with the technical, legal and regulatory requirements.

Manage schedule timing changes within the Operational/Forecast window for distribution to Altea and all other channels.

Collaborate with Network Planning to provide schedule statistics required to analyse and determine future medium term to long term strategic plans.

Manage schedule enrichment data such as traffic restrictions and disclaimers in accordance with IATA standards.

Determine and provide flight set up information to support alliances and joint ventures.

Manage AC’s codeshare flights and relationships.

Analyse the operating schedules for Air Canada mainline, Jazz, and Rouge to interpret changes and make decisions to calibrate the rules that will optimize existing codeshare flights and connectivity

Fulfill AC’s commitment to Star for schedule synchronization. This will ensure optimal customer satisfaction and revenue contribution. Responsible for maintaining strict compliance Star.

Investigate quality control issues with incoming codeshare schedules and collaborate closely with codeshare partner airlines, IT, and Alliances with recommendations for any required changes to ensure adherence to the various code share contracts.

Participate in the implementation of new codeshare partners and expansions with existing partners and provide sound recommendations regarding various systems set-up requirements and ongoing codeshare schedule management to the Manager, Schedule Support.

Implement IATA approved changes to industry-related data such as time zones, DST, and aircraft configurations to ensure accurate industry-related data support within the various Scheduling and Corporate/Operating systems.

Manage flight number range data and liaise with various commercial stakeholders.

Initiate analysis of AC marketing flight number ranges to measure capacity for changes and expansions and make recommendations to the Manager, Schedule Support to support commercial direction.

Manage key activities and I.T. testing as required in support of major projects/plans lead by the Manager, Schedule Support.

Manage regulatory schedule filings with the Canadian Transportation Agency and collaborate closely with the Commercial Alliances group to provide support for other government filings

Represent the Scheduling department at meetings relating to codeshare issues.

Provide recommendations related to strict standard operating procedures designed for top quality schedule publication and distribution.

Implement, manage and document new or modified processes and procedures as designed by the Manager, Schedule Support.

Replace Manager, Schedule Support when necessary, including on-call nightly.
Qualifications

University degree in a relevant field of study an asset

Strong analytical and problem solving skills.

Ability to work under pressure and to multi-task with a strong sense of priorities to handle conflicting deadlines.

Ability to produce highest quality work with attention to precision and details.

Strong understanding of commercial and operational impacts of schedule product.

Proven ability to communicate well and maintain a solid working relationship with internal

and external colleagues.

Experience in analysis of high volumes of data under very limited time constraints.

Excellent team player.

Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
The following specialized skills are an asset:

Understanding of scheduling publication, distribution and code share concepts.

Knowledge of codeshare partnerships.

Knowledge of industry schedule standards such as IATA SSIM Standard, government regulatory, legal, Star Alliance and other partner contracts.

Understanding of Air Canada operating and partner networks.
-
Knowledge of scheduling systems, i.e. Sabre Sched Manager, LSY SchedConnect and FSIS (in-house Flight Schedule Information System)
