The Data Product Manager is responsible for defining, prioritizing and managing the various initiatives related to the creation and development of data products throughout the Air Canada Products, Marketing and eCommerce branch. 
 
This key position will guide our data roadmap and vision. The candidate will collaborate on a variety of projects, such as the integration of new partners and digital features,  requiring creation or enhancement of data assets. Through its strategic and analytical vision, the Data Product Manager will act as a true ambassador for the various data products available at Air Canada.
 
Main responsibilities
 
  • Prioritize data product requirements . Act as the main point of contact and liaise between stakeholders and teams, while reporting on key steps to the leadership team. The Data Product Manager will collaborate with players with various technical profiles and expertise, adapting communications accordingly.
  • Understand the company’s objectives and translate them into BRD/Epics/User Stories. 
  • Act as Product Owner within the Agile delivery teams (manage the backlog, carry out follow-ups, make final approval of data assets, etc.).

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication, presentation and leadership skills 
  • Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of mandatory experience as a product manager, product owner, including at least two years in delivering data products in a big data environment (Mandatory)
  • A master’s degree (MBA, M.Sc.) will be considered an asset 
  • Knowledge of BI analytics/concepts, data warehouse  platforms and best practices in user acceptance testing (UAT) 
  • Knowledge of at least one of the following programming languages: SQL, Python, SAS
  • PSPO or CSPO certification, an asset 
  • Knowledge of Agile methodology, an asset 
  • Knowledge of Jira/Confluence, an asset
  • Interest in travelling and the loyalty industry, an asset
Conditions of Employment:
