As Air Canada strives to build its next generation applications, we are looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join the UX Centre of Excellence. We are looking for someone to bring forward their finest work with uncompromising attention to every detail. Simply put, we want to amaze our users and make them fall in love with our products.
Responsibilities

Work in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to design leading class applications and products that target the complexity and real-world challenges of the travel and airline industries

Lead Design Thinking workshops to help Business stakeholders and Development teams better empathize with users and shape solutions to their needs
-
Collaborate on defining product vision and feature roadmaps that will create value for and delight users
-
Act as an advocate for the user as you design experiences that help them achieve their goals

Produce UX and UI design elements to bring features and products to market
-
Work closely with Business Stakeholders to define user journeys and build storyboards, proof-of-concept, wireframes, mock-ups, prototypes and solutions that meet usability best practices

Identify actionable insights/learnings through ethnographical studies, in-depth user research, in-depth interviews, and usability testing

Conduct ongoing research to stay current on UX and UI development best practices

Collaborate on the definition of Air Canada’s Design System and its implementation
-
Participate in the entire software development lifecycle by analyzing, designing, and developing new features and products

Facilitate collaboration and feedback with/from customers, users, Designers and Business and IT Stakeholders

Key Deliverables will be:

Wireframes and UX requirements

User Interaction guidelines

Fully functional prototypes

Hi-fidelity Mockups
-
Library of reusable UI elements and assets

Complete documentation on all deliverables (English only)
Expertise in the following areas:
- Expertise in design thinking and human-centered design methodologies
- Building UX/UI solutions for web and mobile applications
- UX and UI design best practices
- Digital Accessibility best practices
- Building click-through prototypes for collaboration and usability testing
Qualifications

Education in Human Computer Interaction or related design program, or equivalent experience
-
Minimum 5 years of UX/UI design experience
-
Minimum 2 years working in Agile Product Development
-
Experience designing business tools/applications is an asset
-
Experience in user research and testing methodologies is an asset
-
Experience with data visualization and report design is an asset
-
Creativity with respect to idea generation, problem solving and solution implementation

Ability to advocate for users first and effectively defend design choices/solutions

Ability to design UX/UI solutions and document requirements for development
-
Experience with design and prototyping tools: Sketch, AdobeXD, Figma, Abstract
-
Passion for leading-edge technology and ability to relate back to business solutions

Excellent communication and presentation skills able to demonstrate technical and business fluency

Must be a team player with ability to work closely with diverse groups and working styles

Autonomous and self-starter able to effectively self-manage priorities

Must embrace an ever-changing environment
