Description:
Reporting to the Manager, Station Attendant Training – Operations, the Aircraft & Baggage Training Delivery manager will be responsible for providing the leadership and direction to ensure that all aspects of Aircraft & Baggage Training Delivery are completed in accordance with the standards set forth by Transport Canada, Airports and Commercial. This includes support in terms of facilities and equipment as well as execution of third-party contracts – relevant to aircraft and baggage training programs/instructors/facilities. This role will also be responsible for staffing resources across Canada for instructors and leads assigned to below the wing. This position will be based out of Toronto.

Ensures programs are delivered in accordance with governing regulations and standard operating procedures, Air Canada Corporate Standards, Airports and Commercial to ensure consistency of delivery system wide

Liaises with Manager Station Attendant Training regarding Transport Canada, Safety and Training Design issues in order to maintain compliance for all programs

Supports the introduction, planning/maintenance of all training equipment including staff resources to maintain AFC’s / IMAC’s and day to day facility issues in the training facilities

Supports the planning and acquisition of all local training supplies in order to support training plans while maximizing cost efficiencies

Ensures below the wing training operation is in compliance with the NAOSH and COSH regulations

Responds to any findings reported following an inspection by any member of the Branch, Transport Canada, or other regulatory bodies

Supports or participates in internal or external audit activities

Manages the performance and progress of direct reports

Reviews and responds to inquiries, internal or external, regarding any aspect of Training Delivery

Maintains constant communication with Manager, Station Attendant Training, Airports, and Manpower Planning to ensure that all training activities meet the expectations and operational needs of the Branch

Supports elements of Commercial based Training Programs

Ensures site (working) copies of all training programs are maintained and current , including related exams and handouts

Determine, allocate and maintain Instructor levels and qualifications for Canada for below the wing training to support Branch and Transport Canada requirements for all safety and service training

Responsible to evaluate staffing requirements for training initiatives

Manages interviews, selection and induction of new instructors

Performs Quality audits and presents results

Able to use Microsoft Office Excel/PowerPoint and word proficiently.

This position will require about 30 percent travel
Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree or other related diploma, a definite asset, or equivalent professional experience managing employees within a unionized workplace

Sound communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong interpersonal skills

Highly flexible and adaptable

Motivated and an enthusiastic team player
