We are looking for an enthusiastic individual to fill a new position with Trans-Canada Capital. Reporting to the Chief Compliance and ESG Leader, the Senior Analyst – Sustainable Investment and ESG will have as his main responsibilities to contribute to the development of the ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) practices at TCC and to support the investment teams in integrating ESG factors into their investment processes.
 
The candidate will choose TCC for its collaborative work environment, the sophistication and diversification of the products traded, the chance to work closely with the management teams as well as the competitiveness of its total compensation package.
 
Role and responsibilities:
  • Work with investment teams, train and support them to further integrate ESG factors into investment decision-making and the selection of external managers
  • Research ESG best practices
  • Contribute to direct and collaborative engagements
  • Oversee the proxy voting process according to the sustainable voting policy 
  • Participate in the drafting of reports related to sustainable development, the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) and TCFD
  • Calculate ESG metrics (carbon footprint, carbon intensity, etc.)
  • Support TCC and the Sustainable Investment Committee in its ESG practices
  • Participate in a variety of tasks related to sustainable and ESG investing

Qualifications

Formation
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant discipline (finance, actuarial, mathematics, accounting, etc.) or equivalent
  • Studies in sustainable development or a related field, an asset
  • Experience in finance, actuarial science, sustainable investments
  • A minimum of five years of relevant experience in ESG/responsible investing
Knowledge and skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and mobilizing skills
  • Certificate in ESG investment from CFA Institute or equivalent, an asset
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word)
  • Knowledge of VBA, SQL, Python is an asset
  • Knowledge of Bloomberg, an asset
  • Hold or in the process of obtaining the CFA designation

The position will be based in Downtown Montreal with a hybrid working model
