Air Canada seeks a highly motivated, detail-orientated Product Owner, Redemption to join its Loyalty & Digital team, acting as a business owner for Aeroplan’s flight-related redemption products. The ideal candidate acts as a subject matter expert, operating cross functionally to evolve product design and ensure consistent delivery of Aeroplan flight rewards. The candidate must serve as an advocate for member experience, underpinned by passions for technology, loyalty, and travel. Candidate must also possess excellent communication skills and be comfortable in a fast-paced, high-energy, collaborative work environment. 

Responsibilities:
  • Operate cross functionally with key internal stakeholders, ensuring Aeroplan’s redemption product roadmap and vision is aligned to Air Canada’s objectives and goals
  • Collaborate with Digital’s product management team on member-facing digital experiences in a continuous improvement delivery model 
  • Work closely with technology partners to provide feedback, prioritization, and guidance to functional experts, developers, and quality assurance teams
  • Support existing Aeroplan partner airlines with redemption-related inquiries and participate in the implementation of new airline partners 
  • Manage business rule catalogues enabling the delivery of flight-related redemption products
  • Ensure consistent delivery of Aeroplan’s flight reward policies and processes, identifying potential gaps or risks and proposing modifications as required
  • Prepare presentations and product briefs, communicating product changes or enhancements to key internal and external stakeholders
  • Support operational branches responsible for the delivery of redemption products, ensuring compliance with established processes 
  • Conduct competitive analysis and benchmarking to support the evolution of Aeroplan’s redemption products, policies, and procedures 
  • Stay current on technology, retail, loyalty, and travel trends to proactively address potential impacts to Air Canada and Aeroplan 

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate / Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering
  • 3+ years of work experience in related field 
  • Exceptional time management, organizational skills
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally at individual contributor level 
  • Familiarity with Agile project management and/or software development processes  
  • Experience using Software Development Life Cycle tools like JIRA, Confluence, etc.
  • Innovative and creative, possessing ability to identify and develop business opportunities
  • Effective communication skills with ability to provide clear direction in technical and business terms
  • Airline, Loyalty Program, or travel-related work experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience delivering complex digital experiences and solutions is a plus but not required
  • Experience with Passenger Service System or Amadeus Altéa Suite technology is a plus but not required
  • Familiarity with airline tariffs and Revenue Management (RM) practices is a plus but not required
