Air Canada is seeking a highly motivated, energetic, and ambitious individual to learn and progress in their career with Air Canada. The Senior Manager, Financial Services represents the Finance Branch and works within the team which supports the inventory finances and audits of the Air Canada Maintenance Business unit.
Air Canada Maintenance represents one of the key financial drivers for the airline.
  • Provide financial leadership and support to the Maintenance Business Unit in the ongoing management of their business activities including inventory financial performance reporting, monitoring, and improvement of Trax financial processes, and ensuring supply chain financial compliance.
  • Develop and implement Financial Performance Indicators for better understanding of the cause-and-effect relationship of costs and to assure the efficiency and the performance of the supply chain business unit.
  • Deliver value added service to internal Business Units by identifying, and evaluating profitability enhancing opportunities and strategies, internal process changes and new cost savings opportunities.
  • Working with senior management teams, develop and recommend financial goals, objectives and strategy aligned with the Corporation overall financial plan. 
  • Lead the compliance and accountability for the supply chain team.
  • Build and manage relationships with corporate IT, to bridge finance/Trax activities with branch strategic vision. Ensure accounting principles and Trax system are aligned and understood by the ACM BFO team and ACM leadership
  • Direct Financial Audits team and provide accounting/finance guidance on audit findings and recommendations to management on process improvements
  • Partner with the ACM BFO lead to ensure protocols are in place, budgets and forecasts are supported and provide inventory reporting and analysis to support the month end processes.
  • Develop and manage effective working relationships with branch heads and strategic partners and ensure buy-in of solutions and changes in inventory processes and strategy.
  • Ensure a consistently high-level of quality in service provided relative to both timelines and accuracy.
  • Manage a team and provide performance, development plans and successions plans to ensure continuous improvement of the team
  • Other Ad-hoc financial analysis and project management support


  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Finance with 7-12 years of relevant experience in a large, complex organization is a pre-requisite 
  • Accounting and/or business designation (CPA, MBA) is an asset. 
  • Strong business sense and judgmental capabilities 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical skills required.
  • Proven leadership qualities and strong sense of initiative 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in team environment
  • Excellent ability to communicate at an Executive level in both verbal and written formats for presentation, analytical and report generation purposes 
  • Solid work ethics, high degree of energy and dedication 
  • Demonstrated organization skills to handle multiple projects, ability to shift priorities and work under pressure 
  • Very proficient on Excel, PowerPoint, PowerBI and experience working with financial software/applications.
  • Experience in managing a team and delivering performance management
