This position requires a highly motivated, detail orientated individual as a Manager on OPS Modernization (OPS MOD), a business and IT transformation program. The role will be working for one of the Business Stream Leaders for a business unit such as Crew, Operations Control, Airports, and Maintenance to name a few. This individual will be the working with their specific IT counterparts to deliver a product that meets the lower level business requirements.  The Manager, OPS Modernization will help develop strategy, assist in the development of business requirements, specifications, work to modify business processes with application capabilities, drive business-gap analysis and business requirements for application change requests, assist with training development and local stakeholder change management. This individual will help deliver the strategy for intra stream collaboration and contribute to inter business stream business strategy, ensuring the successful deployment and optimization of areas in the program.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Manage a team that will drive the modernization of key operational business processes by developing requirements for people, process, and technology usage for Airline Operations.
  • Manage key business stakeholder relationships - work with lower-level Business Owners to define application experiences that deliver on key business outcomes and goals
  • Own roadmap, and prioritization for your SME related activities contributing to the OPS MOD vision.
  • Work with various business areas and IT to ensure capabilities, business requirements and change management planning meets long term goals
  • Learn the current landscape and work with various branches and vendors to best assess and offer innovative solutions that will ensure an improved, more flexible, and business process eco-system that will serve Air Canada’s needs and goals
  • Identify gaps, streamline solutions, find efficiencies, and execute process improvements
  • Via application selection, functionality, flexibilities – contribute to drive reduce airline operating costs on OPS systems
  • Become subject matter experts for all business processes and applications in your stream and effectively transition knowledge to steady state business support team post implementation

Qualifications

  • Demonstratable experience in delivering complex Business requirements, process documentation and change management for their area of expertise.
  • Ability to motivate stakeholders in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Strong management, process development and documentation skills
  • Ability to provide clear direction and effective communication both in business terms and processes management
  • Innovative and creative with the ability to identify and develop process improvements
  • Management, organizational and planning skills
  • 5-7 Year of experience in their area of expertise
