Scope/Purpose of position: 
 
This role is suitable for a highly dynamic, results driven and creative individual, responsible for managing a mixed portfolio of key accounts (Corporate, agency, OTA & Tour Operators) in Spain.  Developing and implementing key account strategies designed increase revenue and optimize market share to achieve Air Canada’s local market sales objectives and revenue targets.
 
Duties and Responsibilities:  
  • Build & maintain profitable sales & market shares for Air Canada in the Spanish market in close cooperation with the A++ partners
  • Drive the successful implementation of leisure agreements and commercial partnerships
  • Explore new corporate and SME leads to convert into long term partnerships 
  • Ensure Air Canada anticipates to market & competitor trends and threads in the leisure market
  • Ensure sales activities in the designated portfolio are within the cost of sale target
  • Participate in developing the annual sales and marketing plan
  • Assist and support marketing activities of Air Canada and partners in the Spanish market
  • Plan, participate and represent AC in various industry events, workshops and trade fairs
  • Provide regular reports on sales activities, market data and competition (benchmark, statistics, etc.)
  • Support our Contact / Reservation Centres and all its activities
  • Communicate and cooperate with AC teams in Spain, EMEAI and Canada
NOTE:   Actual duties and responsibilities may include any or all the functional duties & responsibilities listed above plus any other related tasks as assigned by the employee’s superior.

Qualifications

  • University degree/diploma in sales management 
  • Minimum 5 years’ airline or travel industry experience with a minimum of 3 years in an external sales role
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong presentation, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Positive, energetic, team player, dynamic and creative
  • Experience in account management, sales & negotiation skills
  • Clear understanding of the airline market
  • Ability to work with figures combined with good analytical skills 
  • Strong organizing skills 
  • Fluent in Spanish and English; Portuguese and French are an asset
  • Good knowledge of Windows and MS office
  • Good knowledge of GDS
