The Pricing Manager is responsible to design and support the implementation of innovative and tactical pricing strategies for the A++ transatlantic joint-venture, as well as to review the effectiveness of set strategies and assess the competitive environment on assigned country pairs.

  • Monitor, analyze and respond to competitive fare initiatives in all channels including websites
  • Develop and implement pricing strategies for the A++ transatlantic joint venture
  • Understand and analyze market dynamics, competitive environment, joint venture activity, price
    elasticity and distribution channels
  • Keep appraised of the competitive strategies implemented by the revenue (inventory)
    management and agency sales teams
  • Monitor results on demand and adjust course accordingly, understand the effects of pricing
    decisions on algorithmic forecasting and revenue optimization tools, inventory, commission and
    incentive programs
  • Maintain integrity and efficiency of the fare structure and fare management tools
  • Demonstrate leadership and initiative by discussing potential pricing actions with internal
    stakeholders and joint venture partners to optimize revenues. Analyze reports and identify trends
    to support these initiatives.
  • Communicate, as required, with internal stakeholders all pricing information, specifically net fares,
    override commissions and special group details so that they can align their day-to-day revenue or
    sales management decisions
  • Ensure accuracy, quality and timeliness of the pricing and revenue accounting data entered into
    the PROS OD Fare Valuation module (PCFV)
  • Understand interline and codeshare agreements and maximize associated revenue quality
  • Interface (and coordinate where permitted) with Joint Venture partners, Star Alliance members
    and other code share partners.
  • Liaise with sales teams to understand distribution strategy, incentive and commission programs
    and related initiatives, and translate this feedback (as required) into coordinated pricing or sales
    actions
  • Support Marketing/Sales Communications by providing content to support marketing initiatives.

Qualifications

 

The Pricing Manager is responsible to design and support the implementation of innovative and tactical pricing strategies for the A++ transatlantic joint-venture, as well as to review the effectiveness of set strategies and assess the competitive environment on assigned country pairs.

  • University degree required with specialization in Aviation Management or equivalent experience.
  • Graduate studies are an asset.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in the travel industry.
  • Solid pricing background incl. experience with private fare products
  • Good understanding of rule coding, fares & footnote coding in ATPCO
  • Solid working experience with the following pricing tools & systems:
    • Sabre AirPrice or Netline/price fares management system and AirPrice calculates tools
    • ATPCO Fare Manager, Infare webscraping
  • Amadeus Altea or Sabre GDS reservations systems background an asset
  • Experience and knowledge in Origin-Destination Revenue Management required
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work on multiple tasks and to prioritize heavy workloads and tight deadlines
  • Must be a team player, self-starter and able to work under general direction
  • Proven leadership, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint and Word applications
  • Verbal & written knowledge of English is required
