Reporting to the General Manager, Excellence Learning, this position will manage the Workplace Integrated Learning Program Strategy with the business units. Managing the day to day operations with the students, coaches and managers, this position will work to ensure a positive learning experience for all involved. Responsible to liaise with Universities, Colleges, Government representatives to support program utilization and development across operations.

  • Lead Workplace Integrated Learning roles & responsibilities and act as the point of contact for the students, coaches, managers and unions.
  • Manage policies and procedures to support the initiation, implementation, and management of co‑operative programs.
  • Manage program financials, share progress with business unit and make recommendations.
  • Build and maintain effective student relationships and engagement, which includes: meeting with student’s managers and coaches 1:1 and in group settings to ensure progress consistency, quality and support is maintained.
  • Collaborate with colleges and consortium partners to develop guidelines and procedures in the planning and delivery co‑operative education.
  • Facilitate and strengthens working partnerships with post-secondary institutions, employers, and the community to enrich co‑operative education
  • Compile and evaluate statistical data on student performance, overall and timely success, and make recommendations and act as necessary to achieve agreed objectives.
  • Participate in regular meetings with students, coaches and managers to ensure progress consistency, quality and support is maintained.
  • Serve on committees, internal and external, as applicable to the position’s requirements.
  • Work with advisory and consultative services regarding funding sources and partnerships.
  • Lead the development of assessment and evaluation practices are in accordance with established criteria.
  • Work with Talent Acquisition and to conduct student and coach interviews as required.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated capability for inspiring and developing teams for success.
  • Must have a solid understanding of curriculum development and adult learning theory.
  • Demonstrated change management and coaching skills
  • Effective communication skills and ability to influence and persuade others to action.
  • Ability to cultivate strong collaborative working relationships working in a matrix reporting environment.
  • Provides feedback and coaches instructors and vendors to improve effectiveness of training methods and delivery of training.
  • Solid understanding of transformational Learning approaches and ability to recognize the difference between a qualification and competency.
  • Instructional design/curriculum development expertise. Digital learning experience.
  • Formal training and experience with training, qualifications tracking tools (QMS, LMS etc.)
  • Project Management Skills an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of applicable safety, environmental and other regulatory standards and policies; includes the requirements to maintain a Maintenance Policy Manual.
  • Able to travel.
  • At least 5 years’ management experience in the aviation industry.
