Air Canada is presently looking for a dynamic individual to fill a permanent full-time position as a Mechanic Category 21.
Mechanics in Category 21 are engaged in welding aircraft engine parts or related work. (Tooling Repairs – welders)

Qualifications
- Welding license (mandatory)
- High school diploma
- Possession of a valid driver's license is mandatory
- Two (2) years experience welding on tig an asset
- Be available to work days, evenings or nights including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to obtain an airside vehicle operators permit (AVOP)
- Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations. Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details Please refer to Transport Canada site for more details.
- Certified Welder
- Aircraft welding an asset - certification aluminum
- Stick welding certificate an asset
- Ability to work shift work and on-call shifts
- Flexible and team player
- Strong attention to detail
- Machinist (asset)
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Act as liaison with engineering
- Ability to assist with tooling repairs as assigned
- Mostly a shop setting environment with occasional work outside with the aircraft
- Ability to work under pressure and time restraints
- Successful candidate must get certified with Transport Canada for aircraft welding
- Candidates must be eligible to work in the country of interest, at the time any offer of employment is made and seeking any required work permits/visas or other authorizations which may be required is the sole responsibility of the candidates applying for this position
