The Campaign Architect/SME plays a key role in the development and execution of Air Canada and Aeroplan campaigns. As the Architect/Subject Matter Expert, they drive the development and advancement of technical solutions for the campaign platform including databases, targeting and personalization. This role focuses on the Adobe Campaign Classic platform, requiring technical development capabilities available as part of the platform. You will be responsible for thought leadership and championing best use of the Adobe Campaign platform.

The Architect/SME is a hands-on subject matter expert in Adobe Campaign Classic. They have a very good knowledge of database systems and marketing campaign management software. They will work as part of cross-functional campaign teams with various stakeholders in Marketing, Analytics, IT, and Notifications to successfully enable the technology in the platform to deliver Multi-channel (Email, SMS, and Mobile Push) campaigns.


  • Architect, administer, configure and operate Adobe Campaign to build Multi-channel campaigns.
  • Execute tasks and activities associated with technical workflow development, implementing database schema designs, automating processes and configurations in the Adobe Campaign Classic platform.
  • Diagnose and solve technical problems related to campaign platform use.
  • Communicate and work directly with various teams, address and manage stakeholder requests and communicate the status of technical projects under development.
  • Understand, manage, customize and optimize the entire campaign platform process, data loading workflows, File systems and SFTP.
  • Provide technical solutions for campaign platform integrations with other enterprise systems.
  • Hands-on expertise with Adobe Campaign Classic activities (Workflow activities, Delivery activities, Technical workflows, User and Role Administration).
  • Implement best practices as part of your architecture and development work and document new processes/best practices.


  • University degree in Computer Science, Informatics, Information Systems, or another related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 6+ years of Experience with technologies and processes for marketing technology platforms:
    • Digital Campaign Management tools: Adobe Campaign Classic (certification a plus), Salesforce Marketing Cloud or other similar system.
    • Good working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL).
    • Snowflake, Azure, PostgreSQL, MySQL, Unix/Linux. 
    • JavaScript, JSON, XML, Unix shell scripting, SOAP & Rest API configuration, HTML and Jira.
  • Knowledge of Airline industry or Loyalty is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and aptitude to engage with colleagues and other stakeholders.
  • Comfort working independently and within a team environment assisting colleagues.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy; ability to manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • High level of ingenuity, problem solving, creativity and initiative.
  • Ability to be assertive and work under minimal supervision.
  • Adaptable, open-minded and ability to think strategically.
