Responsible to the AQP Policy/Procedures Dev Manager, the AQP Software Manager is responsible for ensuring the Training Management software is properly configured to capture the required data and to ensure Pilot Qualifications are accurately tracked. The AQP Software Manager will provide the first line support for flight operations staff regarding any Training software issues and will liaise with Corporate IT and software vendor as required to troubleshoot.
 
Key Functions
  • Configure the Training Management software to capture all necessary Data required to maintain accurate training records for all pilots and other trainees as required.
  • Construct currency requirements in the training management software to ensure proper forecasting rules are in place for training planning and expiry date calculations for all training events.
  • Interact with flight operations groups to determine changes necessary to software configurations for continuous improvements.
  • Develop Event handlers within the Training Management system to create automation of routine tasks.
  • Develop strategies for testing software changes prior to deployment into a production environment.
  • Liaise with other departments to ensure required data is transferred from training system to other relevant systems ( e.g. Netline) as required.
  • Update training footprints for all course in the training management system to ensure scheduling is completed utilizing the most accurate footprints.
  • Provide support to all users of the Training management system to troubleshoot problems and corrections as necessary.
  • Communicate all unresolved software problems with Flight Operations IT representative and Software vendor for resolution.
  • Ensure data captures in accordance with AQP training requirements.
  • Assist AQP Training Statistician in gathering data reports for analysis as required.
  • Upload scripts and any associated documentation required to the training management system for Instructors to access during training session.
  • Coordinating fixes to gradesheet errors or data entry errors inputted by instructors.
  • Utilize software to enter curriculum information into training management system to ensure proper capturing of data from training and evaluation events.
  • Generate required AQP regulatory data reporting to Transport Canada.
  • Assist with development and modification of business processes, including any required documentation, to leverage the Training Management software to create process efficiencies.

Qualifications

  • University Entrance minimum, university or college diploma preferred.
  • Proven teamwork, managerial, and administrative skills. Breadth (the scope) of skills and expertise required for the position.
  • Fluency in English Language to Air Canada Standard.
  • Familiar with airline training management software such as MINT is an asset.
  • Advanced ability to use MS office suite including Excel.
  • Strong Knowledge of Database operations (MS Access/SQL) and report generation an asset.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript and basic programming an asset.
  • Strong Working knowledge of Transport Canada aviation regulations and pilot training requirements.
