The Global Security Operation Center System Specialist is responsible for the sound management of operations related to access, the monitoring of the company's sites as well as any aspect relating to the security of our infrastructures.
This position is responsible to ensure compliance with both internal policies and regulations by effectively communicating with internal/external stakeholders and actioning any requests to support any Manager Security and Resilience or Business units in managing physical security related incident deemed a threat to the safety and security of our assets, our passengers, and our employees.
 
Key Functions:
  • Operate the main access and monitoring system in addition to the various systems not yet part of the main system.
  • Analyze, process and forward requests from members of the organization regarding access card requests, access modification, background checks and all other requests concerning the security of the company.
  • Perform preventive checks of Air Canada sites using various monitoring systems and site security teams.
  • Support and supervise the security agents present on site for any situation or problem, 
  • Ensure that the agents respect the KPI’s set forth by the team
  • Regularly check the status of the security systems and manage the alarms and all incidents (alarm management).
  • Management of priorities according to the severity and risk of the situation. 
  • rapidly analyze all problematic situations so that action can be taken as soon as possible.
  • In the case of break of equipment, carry out necessary checks and send repair request to appropriate subcontractor
  • Respect the procedures and confidentiality set by the company at all times and ensure that they are respected by all persons accessing Air Canada sites.
  • Ensure the maintenance and compliance with the procedures of the security teams present on site.
  • Analyze and deliver sensitive information to corporate security members.
  • Document any incidents that took place during the work shift in ADQ/Genetec or the applicable reporting documentation forms. 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Word, 
  • Knowledge of the Genetec Security Center systems is an asset,
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a high degree of diplomacy, maturity, and discretion
  • Excellent multitasker and able to make decisions quickly
  • Ability to work without supervision, has good judgment and manage own time
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Attention to details and strong problem-solving skills
  • Must be fully bilingual in French and English
  • Strong written skills both French and English
  • Strong sense of confidentiality 
  • Must be available to work flexible shifts 24/7 schedule coverage
  • Must be willing to support the team during occasional site system outages and emergencies out of business hours when required
Conditions of Employment:
