Air Canada is seeking an experienced and dynamic senior technical analyst focused on providing support to IT solutioning Air Canada’s Product distribution applications. This role requires collaboration and guidance to a diverse internal workforce and extended third party service providers to create the future business application support model for our world class airline brand.
These are exciting times for IT at Air Canada, with several major projects underway that will transform its IT landscape. This is a unique opportunity to work with state-of-the-art technologies and to contribute to the evolution of the Air Canada’s NDC solution for its partners and a recognition program for corporate customers.
This position will be reporting to the “Manager, Application Development and Maintenance” responsible for Product Distribution and Sales.
  • Solution, deliver and maintain key initiatives in Air Canada’s Distribution Journey, as per desired technology architecture and business requirements
  • Ensure the highest quality of end-products through introduction of new tools, technology, and practices for evolution of processes & optimization of applications.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders to collect and use information for improved operational and commercial performance.
  • Collaborate with vendors, internal users and other analysts to develop, evaluate, install, and test software enhancements.
  • Troubleshoot and fix software, messaging, and connectivity issues.
  • Coordinate with various business and IT teams (business partnerships team, ADM teams, Architecture teams) to understand the requirements in the development of integrated IT products, across all platforms and channels
  • Support partners in their onboarding to the Air Canada Distribution Journey.
  • Overview user stories/requirements, enhancements (project & cross-team) progression from end-to-end at each stage including QA (until delivery in production)
  • Host product / project meetings, improve cross discipline communications, and promote product management best practices. 
  • Support multiple working methodologies such as Hybrid, Agile, DevOps.
  • Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures
  • Provide management with economic impact and compliance issues surrounding key business decisions support definition and maintenance of methods, techniques, and calculations for identifying ways to improve business/technical processes.


  • Around 5 to 7 years of IT technology or operations experience in the Airline/Transportation Domain.
  • A relevant University degree/technical certification, and/or relevant experience commensurate to the role.
  • Understanding of ITIL, SDLC, Agile methodologies, Jira, and cyber security risk management frameworks are assets.
  • Knowledge of APIs JSON/XML and Tools like SOAP UI/Postman is a must. Knowledge of Mulesoft will be an added advantage.
  • Knowledge of IATA NDC standard is a must with certification being an added advantage.
